It is undoubtedly true that the spirit or enterprise was an outstanding feature through the three generations which managed the business. Striving to produce whatever the customer might demand, adopting new, innovative and up to date methods and scrapping old ones. All this whilst ensuring that the respect as an industry leader was maintained.

One of the philosophies of William Pinkham or the ‘Old Govenor’ as he was latterly known which he imparted on his son Leslie when he first went out into the world reads "In your successes remain humble, remembering that whilst thousands deserve success few ever achieve it."
